Installing the Backup Role

To add the Backup role to your server, follow these steps:

Prerequisites

1. Firewall Configuration

   • Ensure that all ports from other servers in your cluster are allowed to communicate with the backup server if using an external firewall.

2. Raw Block Device

   • Ensure a raw block device (RAID array, single disk, SSD, SAN, iSCSI volume, or partition) is attached to the server.
   • The device must be unmounted, as Enhance will format it with btrfs, and any existing data will be erased.

Steps to Add Backup Role

1. Navigate to Servers

   • Click Servers in the left sidebar.

2. Choose the Server

   • Select the server you want to assign the Backup role to.

3. Add the Backup Role

   • Click Add role, check the Backup option, complete the form, and hit Add role.

Tip

• Device Path: The block device path must be specified (RAID, disk, SSD, etc.).

  • Use the following command to list block devices on your server:

    lsblk
    

  • Recommended mount point: /backups (must not be currently mounted).

• If your websites were created before the Backup role installation, you can map them to the new backup server using the move server option in the left menu.
