Global Backup Settings

The Backup role on your server inherits the global Service settings, allowing you to offer website backups as a service to customers. To configure global backup settings, follow these steps:

Steps to Configure Global Backup Settings

  1. Navigate to Settings

    • Open Settings in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Service Settings

    • Click Service settings in the menu.
  3. Navigate to the Backups Section

    • Go to the Backups section where you can configure the following settings:

Configurable Global Backup Settings

  1. Minimum Backup Age

    • Defines the minimum time since the last backup before the website can be backed up again. This prevents excessive backups.
  2. Max Backup Age (Hours)

    • The maximum time between backups. This is a target, but it may be exceeded if the platform experiences high load.
  3. Maximum Backup Retention

    • The duration for which a backup is retained before being deleted from the backup service.
  4. Backup Emails

    • Email accounts will be included in the backup alongside website data.
  5. Maximum Concurrent Backups

    • Specifies the maximum number of backups that can be taken simultaneously per server. Setting this too low may prevent the Maximum backup age target from being met.
    • Warning: Setting this too high can lead to excessive system load.
  6. Allowed Backup Hours

    • Defines the hours during which automatic backups can occur, following the local timezone of your Enhance master server.
