Firewall (UFW)
Enhance automatically configures the Ubuntu "ufw" (Uncomplicated Firewall) to create netfilter rules within the operating system's kernel. This configuration includes all the essential rules to manage your hosting cluster effectively.
Key Points:
- Default Configuration: Enhance provides a default configuration for ufw with the necessary rules for managing the hosting cluster.
- Outbound Connectivity: The firewall manages NAT (Network Address Translation) rules, which are essential for outbound connectivity for PHP and other application containers.
- Avoid Disabling: Unless you're an expert user, do not disable the firewall as it plays a crucial role in managing network traffic.
- External Firewalls: If you're using an external firewall, it can work alongside ufw.
You can also use ufw to add custom rules. Refer to the Ubuntu wiki or official documentation for more detailed information.
Enhance will soon include a UI for easier firewall rule management.
