Move Website to New Server

The Move Website Tool allows you to quickly transfer an entire website or specific services (e.g., email) between servers within your Enhance cluster (Shared or Dedicated).

• DNS Update: Enhance automatically updates the DNS for websites using Enhance DNS. If the website's DNS is hosted externally, you'll need to update it manually.

Restrictions:

• Service websites with the Application role cannot be moved between servers.
• Soft-deleted websites cannot be moved between servers.

Moving Websites Between Servers:

• Cross-server Types: Websites can be moved between different web server types (e.g., Apache, LiteSpeed, OpenLiteSpeed).

• Database Move Limitation: If using the Caching_sha2_password authentication plugin, databases can't be moved between MariaDB and MySQL. To move, you need to reconfigure users to use mysql_native_password.

Steps:

1. Via Servers:

   • Go to Servers in the left sidebar.
   • Click Manage on the source server.
   • Scroll to services and select Move server.
   • Confirm the move and track progress.

2. Via Websites:

   • Go to Websites in the left sidebar.
   • Select websites to move and click Move server.
   • Confirm the move and track progress.

3. Via Move Server:

   • Go to Move server in the left sidebar.
   • Select New migration and choose the websites to move.
   • Confirm and track progress.

Tips:

• You can leave the page during the migration. You'll be notified once it's complete.
