Website Server Placement

Enhance provides advanced server placement logic to optimize website provisioning across your infrastructure.

Global Website Server Placement

This setting determines how new websites are assigned to servers within your cluster.

Available server placement options:

  • Least load: Assigns each website role to the server with the lowest historical load, as long as the server is up.
  • Least websites: Places each role on the server with the fewest websites mapped, useful when scaling your cluster.
  • Random: Distributes websites randomly, helping balance load across servers in a large cluster.

TIP: Disabled server roles will not be considered for placement.

To configure global placement:

  1. Click Settings in the left sidebar.
  2. Go to Platform settings and scroll to Server placement.

Force Website Server Placement

The Master Organisation can override platform logic for specific websites.

To force placement on a specific server:

  1. Click Websites in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Add website.
  3. Under Server placement, choose the desired server locations, then click Add.

Disable Website Placement on a Server

You can stop websites from being assigned to a specific server by disabling placement.

To disable placement on a server:

  1. Click Servers in the left sidebar.
  2. Select the server you wish to modify.
  3. Scroll to Roles, select Disable placement on the relevant tabs.
  4. Click Disable to confirm.

TIP: You can move websites between servers using the Move server tool.
